With this band, he recorded and performed material that would appear on his solo albums GP and Grievous Angel, showcasing a deeply emotional fusion of country storytelling and rock sensibility. Though his solo career was cut short by his death in 1973 at age 26, Parsons’ work with the Fallen Angels and his broader catalog had a lasting impact on country rock, alt-country, and Americana, influencing generations of musicians who followed.
